Welcome to the Howler Monkey Hotel

Welcome to the Howlermonkeyhotel which is based in Cabuya about 6k. from the town of Montezuma. Montezuma is on the nicoya peninsula ,about 12k.from the town of Cobano in the province of Puntarenas in the country of Costa Rica in central america.The Howlermonkeyhotel is right on the beach with blue ocean just steps from your cabina.There are 4 buses every day to Montezuma 7.15/9.15/13.15/16.30,and these buses all meet up with the buses to Cobano and the ferry.To the right when you look out from the beach you see Cemetary Island,Cabuya is the only village in Costa Rica to have the town cemetary on an otherwise uninhabited island. Another place not to be missed is the Rio Lajas which you cross as you enter the village.Its shady banks are ideal for bird watching,where kingfishers,herons,toucans and even Roseate spoon bills can be seen.Cabuya is the gateway to the wonderful Cabo Blanco Reserve.This small fishing community borders the principal entrance to the park and offers a wealth of natural sites to discover.Montezuma can get a bit loud at night with music going on into the morning,so Cabuya is much more relaxed,it has 2 supermarkets,a bakery,6 restaurants,3 bars.
